You can soon store your COVID-19 vaccination card in Samsung Pay

The COVID-19 pandemic is far from over, and people are getting vaccinated to stay safe from the deadly virus. Many places in the US have made it mandatory for people to show proof of vaccination for entry. To help you with this, Samsung Pay will soon be able to store your COVID-19 vaccination card.

In collaboration with CommonHealth, Samsung is bringing a way to store your COVID-19 vaccination record in the Samsung Pay app. This feature will be limited to the US, though. The COVID-19 vaccination information will be added to Samsung Pay via the CommonHealth app that can be downloaded via the Play Store. Users will have to create an account with CommonHealth and verify their information to access their vaccination records. Expect the app update to arrive over the next two weeks.

The digital version of the COVID-19 vaccination card will be added to Samsung Pay. Users can then show the QR code at places where vaccination proof is required (especially while travelling and entry at certain venues). Since Samsung Pay cards can be accessed via the lock screen and the home screen, the whole process will become a lot easier.

Rob White, Sr. Director of Product for Samsung Pay, Samsung Electronics America, said, “Samsung Pay simplifies transactions for millions of mobile device users. As more and more consumers use their Samsung devices as a digital wallet, it is a natural extension to make Covid-19 vaccination records more easily accessible. We are proud to partner with The Commons Project Foundation on this important initiative and to help make life easier.
