
Director James Wan is tapping into his horror roots for the Aquaman sequel.
The film is currently in production in London. In July, star Jason Momoa shared on Instagram that he touched down in London to start work on the much-anticipated sequel.

Speaking to Total Film, James shared where he is drawing inspiration from for the movie.
"Aquaman 2 is very heavily inspired by Planet of the Vampires. You can take the boy out of horror, but you can never take the horror out [of] the boy."
The 1965 Italian horror film directed by Mario Bava follows the experiences of two crew members of two spaceships who survived when they crash-landed on an unexplored planet. The dead crew members stalk and kill the remaining survivors.

Collider reports that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will see the superhero go to the Lost Kingdom, part of the Atlantean Empire lost in History after the Atlanteans fell into ruin and became an underwater people.
Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison will reprise their role. Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk joins the cast in an undisclosed role.
