'Please be careful when cutting it free from its bindings.'

The mattress comes in a roll from the retailer and needs to be unwrapped and left to decompress for 72 hours to 'grow to its full potential'.

The amusing tone of the instructions continued onto the second page, explaining the mattress had been 'under a lot of pressure lately and may lash out if unwrapped incorrectly'.

There was also an apology for any bad smell accompanying the bedroom staple.

'Being sealed in plastic on a long trip can make anyone a little fragrant. So no harsh words about the smell for a few hours. you wouldn't want to offend your new best friend.'

Others said they have the same mattress and were equally as amused.

'If only I had a set of rules like this to follow on the mattress I bought online,' laughed another.

The customer also raved about the comfort of the new mattress and said it was like 'sleeping on a cloud'.

'It is more comfortable than our couple of grand mattress,' she said.

'I didn't feel my partner moving around at all and he said he didn't feel it when I moved onto my side,' she said.

The king sized mattresses are currently on sale for $99.
