Bengaluru, Aug 19 (UNI) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will visit the Tungabhadra Dam and the world-famous Hampi monuments on August 20 and 21.
Mr Naidu is scheduled to board a helicopter from Hubballi and fly to Vijaynagar. After his arrival at the Vijaynagar taluka stadium at 5.20 pm, he will straightaway head to the Tungabhadra dam.
On August 21, Mr Naidu will visit Hampi and world famous monuments including Sri Virupaksha Temple, Sri Krishna Temple, Kamala Mahal, and others.
After visiting the monuments and temples, he will stay overnight in Hampi. Next day, the Vice President will board a special helicopter destined for Hubballi airport.
Ahead of his arrival, all necessary steps are being taken to ensure his security. The roads linking Hampi with Kamalpur are being cleaned and fixed by potholes. Makeshift stairways are being built to make it easier to climb the monuments.
Accompanying him are his officials and wife Usha and their stay has been reserved at the Hampi University guesthouse along with with the Vice President.
Visitors have already been restricted from visiting Hampi at the weekends as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of Covid in Vijaynagar district. With the presence of the Vice President at the site, more stringent restrictions are expected to be put in place.
After visiting the monuments at Hampi, he will fly in a helicopter to Kamalapur and stay at the Mayura Bhubaneshwari hotel.
