England Tour of Pakistan: Pakistan were forced to play home internationals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in 2009, with opposition sides only touring again in recent years. Along with two T20Is in October, England are lined up to play a full one-day and Test series at the end of next year.
England Tour of Pakistan: If the series against England go ahead as planned in October, it could leave players with difficult decisions to make. Captain Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales had skipped a tour of Bangladesh in 2016 because of security concerns. There is also a clash of the tour with the latter half of the IPL 2021 Phase 2, and the ECB have previously revealed that the decisions were left with the players.
The series is bound to see some new faces with the ECB opting for IPL 2021 bound players to let them continue their commitments like New Zealand. With the T20 World Cup set to be played in the UAE, IPL is seen as the perfect platform for players to get fit and acclimatise to the conditions. Some of England’s biggest limited-overs stars will be plying their trade in the cash-rich league, including captain Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran.
