Bell Bottom: Akshay Kumar-starrer finally gets a theatrical release; fans call the film 'brilliant'

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the filmmakers and actors have released their films on OTT platforms. However, actor Akshay Kumar was very much clear that he wants to release his film 'Bell Bottom' in theatres only and not on any OTT platform. And finally, his much-awaited film got a theatrical release today, giving major relief to the show business amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Well, the fans who were eagerly waiting for their favourite star to appear on the silver screen are giving positive reviews of the film. While the #BellBottom is currently trending on social media, Akshay's fans are taking to their Twitter handle and writing all the good things about the film. One of the users wrote, '#BellbottomInCinemas, Pandemic & Delta virus are definitely a concern, but returning to cinemas with safety protocols wouldn't harm. It was beautiful to experience #BellBottom magic on the big screen', another one wrote, 'Just watched #BellBottom what a movie...many scenes give us goosebumps and whistling moments. After a long time these lines. Standing for National Anthem...those days are back...Cinema is back...Akshay Kumar is back...Thank you, @akshaykumar sir...Today's is our festival.' While calling the film 'brilliant', another user wrote, '#BellBottom: THRILLED! Literally, I enjoyed it more watching 2nd time. There are many twists and turns. The dialogues are absolutely brilliant and BGM plays key importance. Truly made for the big screen experience!' Well, while several netizens are praising the film and the actor's decision to go for a theatrical release only, his fans in his home state Maharashtra are unable to see their favourite actor on the silver screen. Actually, 'Bell Bottom' did not release in Maharashtra as the theatres are not yet functional in the state owing to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in place. Talking about the film, 'Bell Bottom' is a spy thriller and the first Hindi movie to hit theatres during the second wave of the pandemic. The film is based on the plane hijack that took India by storm during the 80s and besides Akshay, stars Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles. The film is helmed by Ranjit M Tewari.
