Sangrur, August 17

Two days after its inauguration, the construction of Rs 7.43 crore Central Government-funded Multipurpose Sports Complex in Sangrur has come under the scanner as BJP leaders alleged Public Works Department (PWD) officials, which constructed the building, did not get the building plan approved from the local government department.

Local BJP leaders have also written to the Central Vigilance Commissioner for a high-level inquiry and action against officials for utilising huge amount of Centre, “without following norms”. — TNS
