WWE Raw: WWE legend & Hall of Famer Goldberg has opened up on his real-life issues with fellow WWE Raw star Matt Riddle. Goldberg & Riddle have had a real-life rift against one another in the past. However, with time things have abate between the two.
Recently Goldberg appeared on DAZN, where he spoke about his past rift with Riddle. The Hall of Famer said that Riddle could be a “prick” but also appreciated the WWE Raw star for the incredible hard work he has put in to transform his UFC fighting style into pro-wrestling.
“Yeah. The cocky kid (Riddle) spouting off his mouth in the beginning, and I didn’t appreciate it very much by any stretch of the imagination. But the guy has put in a lot of frickin hard work and a lot of hard work, and he’s dedicated his life to this business. Whether I like him as a human being or not, I have to understand and appreciate his passion for the business and his work ethic. Because he works hard and that I appreciate as an athlete and as a human. Is he a prick sometimes? Absolutely. But that’s him. That’s his character, and so am I.”
WWE Raw: Riddle has also showered praise on Goldberg in the past
There have been many interviews where Riddle has appreciated Goldberg for his incredible in-ring work. The Original Bro spoke to Sony Sports India recently and said that things have settled down between him and the Hall of Famer now. He also narrated a positive backstage interaction that took place a few weeks back on WWE Raw.
“I saw Bill the other day before he challenged Bobby Lashley and he was walking to the Gorilla Position, and I was standing there, and I was with Damian Priest at the time, and he says hi to everybody, and then Goldberg comes up to me gives me a look. He was making a face and then he goes, ‘Hey, congratulations kid….’ and I was like, ‘Oh man, Goldberg is kind of nice,’ so I gave him a little handshake and he went out and challenged Bobby & then he was coming out, through Gorilla again and I was like, ‘Hey Goldberg, good stuff’ and as he gave me a fist bump he says, ‘I only need two moves’ so I was like, ‘Oh man, the guy’s still got it’.”
WWE Raw: Goldberg & Riddle will have their task cut out at WWE Summerslam
Goldberg and Riddle are scheduled to compete this Saturday at WWE Summerslam PPV. Goldberg will challenge the All-Mighty WWE Champion Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship, meanwhile, Riddle will team up with Randy Orton to challenge AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag-Team Titles.
