People to decide activist's political party

Imphal, August 17 2021: Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup has informed that the people will decide in September the political party which political activist Sapam Kangleipal Meitei should join for contesting the state assembly election.

In a release, the Lup said that a meeting convened at the residence of Kangleipal at Nongada Thongkhong with the attendance of elderly people of the constituency has adopted a resolution in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Sawombung GP ex-pradhan Moirangthem Santi, Pungdongbam GP ex-pradhan Irungbam Rabi Meitei, Nongada village elder Pheiroijam Brojendro, Yaingangpokpi veteran politician Keisam Dhananjoy and a resident of Chana Khul Leisangthem Ibohanbi as presidium members.

During the meeting, an organisation named Ahal Luptin Lamlai for like-minded elderly people of the constituency has been formed and Laishram Raghumani appointed as its convenor.

Under the guidance of the new organisation, Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup will conduct a survey in all the polling stations of Lamlai A/C within September and decide to which political party Kangleipal shall join by consulting with elders and people of Lamlai, it added.
