Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, today launched the New Amaze with enhanced looks, premium exteriors styling and plush interiors. The ‘Shaandar’ New Amaze embodies the spirit of living life with Pride and represents a whole new attitude and fresh confidence in its latest avatar. The premium family sedan is available in Manual as well as CVT transmission in both Petrol & Diesel engines. A brand new colour Meteoroid Grey Metallic has been added in the range which amplifies the contemporary & premium looks.

Commenting on the launch of New Amaze, Mr Gaku Nakanishi, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said,

A strategic model for our business, specifically developed for Indian consumer and exclusively Made in India, the Amaze is the largest volume driver for Honda in India currently and has maintained its position among the country’s best-selling sedans. The New Amaze with its enhanced looks and styling is aimed to delight our customers offering them a One Class Above Sedan Experience.”

The New Amaze’s exterior changes include Sleek Solid Wing Face Front Grille with Fine Chrome Moulding Lines offering strong and sophisticated impression, modern & stylish advanced LED Projector Headlamps with integrated signature LED DRLs, New Advanced LED Front Fog lamps with sleek chrome garnish and a Redesigned front bumper lower grille for wider appearance. The newly designed headlamps along with front fog lamps provide a homogenous design appeal to the front of the car when lit up at night.

The new and distinct Premium C-Shaped LED Rear Combination Lamps with unique signature red luminescence and redesigned Rear Bumper with Premium Chrome Garnish & Reflectors gives a stunning appearance to the rear of the New Amaze. The refreshed model also gets New Diamond-cut two-tone multi-spoke R15 Alloy wheels and New Chrome Door handles with touch sensor based smart entry system that enhances the overall exterior appeal of the car.  

The cabin of the New Amaze epitomizes elegance, sophistication and luxury with its new astounding interiors. The New Amaze offers a delightful play of plush interiors with Satin Silver Ornamentation on Dashboard and Door trims, Satin Silver Garnish on Steering Wheel and Chrome plated AC vent knobs to emphasize premium and high contrast feeling in its ergonomically arranged cockpit. Premium seat upholstery with new stitching pattern, Leather Boot for Manual Transmission shift lever and Trunk Lid lining enhances high-quality touch-and-feel. The comfortable and spacious interiors come with a roomy cabin especially designed to provide ample legroom, contoured bucket seats, fabric pad on door trims and new front map lamp. It comes packed with high functionality features such as One-push Start/Stop Button, Automatic Climate Control, F1 inspired sporty paddle shift, and Cruise Control.

Honda Amaze is powered by Honda’s well acclaimed 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine in both Manual and CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) variants. The petrol engine with its advanced low friction technologies for output and efficiency delivers 90PS of Power @ 6000 rpm in both MT & CVT. The diesel engine has been developed to achieve high power with increased refinement and delivers max power of 100ps in MT and 80 ps @ 3600 rpm in CVT variants. The comfort of CVT availability in both Petrol and Diesel engines delivers great driving pleasure and superior fuel efficiency. The combination of high torque of Honda’s diesel and linear acceleration of CVT gives smooth and responsive acceleration.

Adding to the aesthetics and convenience of the New Amaze is the DIGIPAD 2.0 – 17.7 cm Touchscreen Advanced Display Audio System that offers seamless and smart connectivity through Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, Weblink and a host of advanced functionality like Voice Command, Messages, Bluetooth for Handsfree Telephone & Audio Streaming Support and Wireless Infrared Remote. Additionally, the Rear Camera display can now show Multi-Views like Normal View, Wide View & Top-Down view for enhanced parking convenience in tight spots.

The New Amaze is packed with latest features for secure protection and a range of Honda’s active and passive safety technologies, which are offered as standard equipment across all variants. Honda’s own ACE body structure, Standard Dual SRS airbags for driver and front passenger, Standard Anti-lock brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Standard ISOFIX seats, ECU Immobilizer system, New Rear Multi-view camera with guidelines, New Automatic Headlight control with light sensor, Driver side window one touch up/down with pinch guard, Rear parking Sensor, Impact mitigating front head rests and pedestrian injury mitigation technology.

The Honda Amaze is available in 3 grades in petrol and diesel variants – E is retained unchanged, and New S and New VX in Manual Transmission. Additionally, CVT is available in S and VX grades in Petrol and VX grade in Diesel. The New Amaze is available in a choice of 5 exterior colours – Meteoroid Grey (New introduction), Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic. 

The New Honda Amaze offers complete peace of mind with 3 years Unlimited Kilometres warranty as standard benefit to the customer. Additionally, customers can opt for Extended Warranty for additional two years unlimited kilometres and Best in segment up to 10 Years Anytime Warranty for extra peace of mind. The car offers low cost of maintenance with Service interval of 1 year/ 10,000km whichever is earlier. 

HCIL will begin the deliveries of the new Amaze from HCIL dealer network across the country immediately after the launch. Customers can also book and buy the refreshed New Amaze online from the comfort of their homes through Honda’s online sales platform ‘Honda from Home’.

The 1st Generation Honda Amaze was launched in India in April 2013 followed by 2nd Generation launch in May 2018. The Amaze has been an extremely successful model in India and has gained strong presence and popularity as a contemporary family sedan in Tier 2 and 3 markets with 68% of model sales coming from these cities. With the growing popularity of automatic transmission models among customers, the share of automatics in Amaze is also more than 20%.
