UDAIPUR: BJP’s Yuva Morcha president and Bangalore MP Tejasvi Surya’s tweet about having dal-roti with tribals in rural Udaipur has sparked controversy and given opposition a chance to attack the BJP for the blatant lie.
Surya was in Udaipur recently for Amrit Mahotsav celebrations for two days. During the tour, he had meals with a family from the Dangi community in a village nearby. Tejasvi took to social media and wrote “Just finished a lovely and delicious Rajasthani lunch of Makki ki roti and daal at the home of a tribal family in rural Udaipur”.
The tweet landed in controversy as the woman in the picture is from the Dangi community. They are a prosperous community and do not come under the Scheduled Tribe.

The tribal leader and former MLA of Gogunda Mangilal Garasia has attacked BJP and said the BJP leaders are carrying a bundle of lies with them and thriving by spreading lies.
He added, the BJP is using tribals as a political tool. The post has attracted controversy because the place where Surya had his lunch falls in a tribal constituency. In Udaipur, five out of eight seats are ST seats. Out of 28 seats in Udaipur division, 16 are ST seats. In such a situation, the tribal society in the entire division is important. Leaders are trying their best to woo the tribal voters in this region.
