Dhillon claimed he got the work approved under general quota and it has nothing to do with councillor quota work.
The residents in Gurmail Nagar were waiting for the road construction for a long time as preparation to lay cemented road was already done.
The BJP councillor reached there sat on a dharna. She alleged during the dharna, police and congress leaders threatened her.
The officer on duty then said cement could not be laid down on road as time had lapsed to utilise the material.
Sharma said road could not be constructed due to the drama and she will sit on protest against municipal officials and congress government outside commissioner's office on Thursday.
“I had taken approval for this work through state government funds and it has nothing to do with councilor quota work. Councillor Sonia Sharma sat in front of truck loaded with material and due to her protest material could not be used,” Sarabjit Singh Dhillon said.
