An organised mother has shared her simple hack to speed up your drying time by 30 per cent, and all you need is a towel.

Carolina McCauley, from Perth, said she always adds a 'clean, dry towel' to the tumble dryer at the beginning of the drying cycle before setting it off as per normal.

She then removes the towel after just 15 minutes, and lets the cycle continue until the end.

Carolina posted on TikTok: 'Laundry hack. How to speed up drying time.

'If you add a clean, dry towel at the beginning of your drying cycle, then start the dryer, the towel helps to absorb moisture.'

Once 15 minutes have passed, you can remove the towel and let the other items continue as per normal:

'This speeds up the drying time by 30 per cent,' she said.

Thousands who saw Carolina's handy tip were impressed and said they had never heard how efficient a towel can be at helping with your drying.

'Wow, I never knew this!' one commenter posted.

'My dad taught me this growing up, and seeing it has made me nostalgic,' another added.

The mum started by adding a few drops of essential oils to wool dryer balls - a method she insisted would leave your clothes smelling 'amazing' after a wash.

To effectively remove stains, Carolina said you need to 'catch them as quick as possible' by soaking the marks in stain remover and a paper towel before throwing it in the wash.
