Twitter is now working to eradicate misinformation on its platform with new features it’s launching and others it has been testing.

The social media giant is now working on a new feature that will let users flag tweets spreading misinformation as misleading.

Twitter clarifies that this feature won’t lead to more fact-checking or labelling problematic posts. Twitter won’t review each flagged tweet.

This feature will work in the same way you can report spam or abuse.

Twitter wants to use this feature to study misinformation on its platform to figure out trends and work on problematic areas.

The network only fact checks categories including elections and COVID-19.

This test is running in Australia, South Korea and the U.S.

“We may not take action on and cannot respond to each report in the experiment. But your input will help us identify trends so that we can improve the speed and scale of our broader misinformation work,” Twitter adds.
