Angling Direct sales rose as the coronavirus pandemic boosted interest in fishing.
It sells equipment online and in 39 stores, and reported first-half revenues of £38.4m, up 19.5pc on the same period last year and 44.8pc higher than two years ago.
Hailing a growing interest ‘due to its health and wellbeing benefits’, it said fishing was ‘becoming increasingly popular around the world’.
Shares, up more than 150pc since the pan- demic, were flat at 72p. Chief executive Andy Torrance said: ‘We are pleased to have delivered a robust financial performance in the first half of the year.’
