Penelope Cruz is making the most of the last days of summer.

The Spanish superstar was seen enjoying a vacation this week, as she was pictured splashing around on the semi-island of Monte Argentario with husband Javier Bardem, 52, in Italy. 

Cruz, 47, who has been hard at work on set of the forthcoming Emanuele Crialese-directed film L’immensita, showed off her impeccable physique while wearing a black swimsuit.

She was joined by her actor-hubby Bardem as they both took a dip in the sea together.  

The couple, who have been married since 2010, could be seen lounging on the shore before venturing into the water for a swim during which they could not resist stealing a cheeky kiss in the choppy waters. 

Later they were seen relaxing in their luxury surroundings as they took in the rays while resting on sun loungers.

A day before, Penelope was seen showcasing her svelte figure in a supportive white bandeau top and a pair of plain black bikini bottoms.

The Academy Award-winner wore her noticeably lightened tresses down and parted to one side.

She also shaded her eyes from the blinding sun with some designer cateye sunglasses, while accessorizing with a pair of large silver hoop earrings.

The Volver actress appeared to be wearing little to no makeup and rocked a bright red pedicure.

Before joining her husband of 11 years in the water, Penelope was seen parading around in the sand near an array of lounge chairs.

She beamed while looking out at the ocean, with some of her hair tucked behind her ears in one snapshot.

After finally convincing herself to take a dip in the ocean, Penelope grabbed a bottle of sunscreen and began applying it to her body.

Once it soaked in, Cruz grabbed a white and yellow striped beach towel and began her trek towards the ocean.

She was greeted by Javier, who had been swimming by himself for some time.

The 53-year-old Spanish actor was shirtless and donned a pair of solid black swim trunks.

Bardem swam over to the stairs in order to help his wife safely into the water, where they were seen enjoying some smile-filled banter.

Penelope briefly removed her shades in order to dunk her head underwater and wet her strands of wavy brunette hair.

The couple remained closed to one another as they swam, even leaning in for a kiss at one point.

Wanting to soak up some of the final rays of the day, the American Crime Story actress swam over to the dock and pulled herself up onto the lift ladder.

Once she was back on land, Penelope threw on a pair of denim shorts and retrieved her cellphone to snap pictures of the view. 

Javier could be seen watching his wife as he continued to swim.

The No Country For Old Men star, eventually, made his way back to shore to spend some time with Penelope and their two children, son Leo, 10, and daughter Luna, eight.

He laid on a lounge chair with Luna resting closely next to him, while Penelope stood over them with son Leo by her side.

Penelope, Javier, and their children have been spending tons of time in Italy in recent weeks, being that the actress is currently working on her forthcoming Italian film L’immensita.

Cruz plays central character Clara, a mother, in the Emanuele Crialese-directed movie.

Written by Emanuele, Francesca Manieri (The First King) and Vittorio Moroni (Terraferma), L'Immensita will give a portrait of a family in the 1970s during a turning point of Italian society.

'L'immensita is the story of a symbiotic love, the one between Clara and her children, set in Rome in the '70s; a world suspended between neighborhoods under construction and TV shows still in black and white, new social achievements and old family models,' Emanuele told Variety earlier this year.

He said Penelope's character embodies 'an archetype that can only come to life through the artistic and human encounter with the sensitivity of a great actress like Penelope Cruz'.
