Carlik Jones, a former Aiken High School standout guard, continued to impress in his first NBA Summer League experience, leading the Dallas Mavericks with a game-high 21 points in addition to six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one blocked shot in an 83-82 win against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Jones scored 35 points and collecting 12 assists over two games this past weekend for the Mavs. He followed his 17-point, eight-assist effort in Saturday's overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets with a team-high 18 points and four assists in Sunday's loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Jones, who played in college for the Louisville Cardinals after transferring from Radford, was named to the Mavericks' Las Vegas Summer League roster earlier this month. He wasn't selected during last month's 2021 NBA Draft, but he signed a free-agent deal with the Mavs a short time later.

Jones was among 40 players to attend the 2021 NBA G League Elite Camp in June.

At Aiken, Jones was twice named CMAC Player of the Year.
