SHIVAMOGGA:
BJP state vice president BY Vijayendra and son of former
CM BS
Yediyurappa, on Monday reiterated that he is focused on building his political career in
old Mysuru region.
According to him, winning more seats in the old
Mysuru is crucial for the party to get a majority in the assembly. Referring to Yediyurappa’s pledge to get the party majority in the next assembly polls, Vijayendra said he is working towards that goal.
“There is a lot of work to be done in the Old Mysuru region which is my priority,” he said, adding the party will decide about his political future.
“Yediyurappa started his political journey holding protest marches for the welfare of people. He used to pedal a bicycle and fought for people. He never aspired to become a chief minister. He evolved amidst the commoners, which the party recognised and elevated him as the CM. Similarly, the party will decide about my political future as it deems fit,” he told reporters.
He denied that he is interfering with new CM Basavaraj Bommai’s government and refused to comment about Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal’s jibes against him.
