Nanded, Aug 16 (UNI) A fourth thief, caught by the local crime branch in a case of theft of agricultural pesticides, has been remanded in police custody for two days by First Class Magistrate RP Ghole, today. Now, a fifth accused in the case has been arrested by the Local Crime Branch of the police force.
On August 1, as per the complaint of Sachin alias Raju Shivprasad Toshniwal a case was filed against the accused Santosh Ravanaveni and Madhav Sawant alleging that they were allegedly stealing pesticides worth Rs 32.61 lakh from their shop for the last two to three months. The police caught both of the accused along with their companion Ankush Haribhau Suryatal, the third accused. On August 15, the fourth accused, Sheikh Muqeed Sheikh Mukhtar (31), resident of Tehran Nagar, was arrested.
He was produced before the court on which he was remanded in police custody till August 18.
The LCB has also arrested the fifth accused Sachin Jadhav, a resident of Govind Nagar, in connection with the theft and recovered the stolen pesticides worth Rs 28.72 lakh from him. The case is being investigated under the guidance of local crime branch police inspector Dwarkadas Chikhlikar and his fellow police officers.
