Arvind Kejriwal said
Colonel Ajay Kothiyal (retired) would be the party chief minister's candidate for the forthcoming assembly elections.
The elections are scheduled to take place in the first quarter of next year.
"If voted to power, we will make Uttarakhand global spiritual capital for Hindus, generate employment opportunities for youth. We will develop the Devbhoomi in a manner that 10 times more devotees can come here," said Kejriwal.
"When the leaders of the state were looting Devbhoomi, Kothiyal was protecting the country on the border. The people of Uttarakhand need such a patriot who, without caring for his life, will serve them," he added.
An Indian Army veteran and former principal of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) at Uttarkashi, Colonel Kothiyal had joined the AAP, this year, on April 20.
