As Taliban swept into Afghanistan’s capital on Sunday, pictures and videos of people fleeing for their lives are coming out on social media. Expressing concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, Bollywood celebrities like Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Sood, Swara Bhasker, Rhea Chakraborty, Shekhar Kapur among others expressed their solidarity with the war-ravaged country and its citizens.
On Monday, the restlessness of Afghan citizens fleeing the country was seen at Kabul airport. People were seen climbing on top of military planes and hundreds of people were seen running with military planes.
Chehre actor Rhea Chakraborty posted an Instagram story expressing her sorrow over the condition of women in Afghanistan. Using the hashtag #Smashthepatriarchy, she wrote, “While women around the globe fight for pay parity, women in Afghanistan are being sold – They have become the pay. Heartbroken to see the condition of women and minorities in Afghanistan. Urge the global leaders to stand up to this! Women are human too.”

At the same time, a shocking video went viral on Monday in which desperate Afghans who had clung on to the underbelly of a C-17 Globemaster were seen falling down from the plane. It appeared that desperate Afghans were clinging on to either the undercarriage of the C-17 or the landing gear of the transport plane when they got flung out due to the huge G-force exerted during take-off, ANI reported.
The unforeseen video has left Bollywood actress’ Swara Bhasker, Anushka Sharma and Kangana Ranaut in shock. The leading actress’ took to their social media handles and shared their reactions. Posting one such video of two people falling off a flight to their death, Bhasker wrote: There are no words!!!!!! This is terror, terror of what they have been through and what they fear and know will happen. Beyond tragic!!!
Anushka Sharma expressed shock on the video and wrote: This is heart-wrenching. No one should have to go through this. Kangana Ranaut also shared the snapshot of the video and wrote: When life is worse than death.


The Taliban has created terror in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of US and NATO forces. The terror outfit had come to Kabul after capturing all the big cities including Kandahar, Ghazni. The militants group have captured Kabul in just 22 days. This is also raising questions about the Afghan army of 3 lakh soldiers prepared under the protection of America, who laid down arms in front of the Taliban one after the other.
