Matka king among 11 arrested in raid on gambling den in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Aug 17 (UNI) The Local Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested 11 people, including Matka king Vijay Patil, in raid on a gambling and illegal liquor den at Kandgaon village in Karveer tehsil of the district.
Acting on a specific information, an LCB team raided the gambling and illegal liquor den in Kandgaon village and arrested 11 people, including Matka king Vijay Patil, and seized Rs 40,970 in cash, 11 mobile handsets, four motorcycles and a car, collectively worth Rs 3,08,911, police said.
Besides Patil, other arrested accused included Pandurang Chavan, Umesh Chavan, Sagar Ghotne, Amit Lokhande, Amit That (all residents of Kandgaon), Dattatry Patil, Shaji Patil, Anil Lokhande (all from Devale village) and Yuvraj Patil (from Vashi in Karveer tehsil of the district).
Later, in the evening, they all were produced before a local court, which remanded them in three days police custody.
Further investigation is underway, sources added.
