    Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.85% in a weak market

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.85 per cent down at 35789.35.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:30AM (IST) on Tuesday in a weak market.

    Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.15 per cent) and RBLBANK (up 0.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    IndusInd Bank (down 2.08 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.27 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.93 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.77 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Bank index was down 0.85 per cent at 35789.35 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.55 points at 16561.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 7.11 points at 55575.47.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Devyani International Ltd., Canara Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of FIEM Industries, Dynamatic Tech, MRO-TEK Realty, Banco Products and Apollo Hospital hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stylam Ind, YES Bank, Ujjivan SFB, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd. and Hero MotoCorp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
