Singer Sona Mohapatra who recently became the first independent Indian artist to get featured on a billboard at Times Square in New York never shies away from speaking her mind. She has been raising her voice on the issue of harassment and also been one of the most vocal voices in the Me Too India moment. Now, taking to her Twitter handle, she has retweeted the 2018 statement shared by singer Shweta Pandit accusing the ace music composer-singer Anu Malik of alleged sexual assault. While retweeting Shweta's old tweet, Sona wrote, 'Dear @NCWIndia @sharmarekha @smritiirani , She, Shweta Pandit was only 15 years old when Anu Malik sexually assaulted her despite being Jatin-Lalit’s niece & grand niece of Pandit Jasraj. She spoke up loudly, with so many other women' and added a heartbreak emoji in the end. Well, in 2018, Shweta Pandit had tweeted, 'Had to go back to my worst memory as a teenage girl today to write this and speak up - its now or never. This is my #MeToo and have to warn young girls about #AnuMalik & let you know your #TimesUp @IndiaMeToo Thank you @sonamohapatra for speaking up about him & supporting this.' She also shared her ordeal in a long statement, a part of which reads, 'He asked me to sing something without any music as he wanted to hear my voice. I remember i sang the title song of har dil jo pyar karega as a voice test for this man. I sang it well so he said, ill give you this song with Sunidhi and Shaan but first give me a kiss now. He then smiled, what i would recall the most evil grin I have ever seen. I went numb and pale in the face. I was only 15years old then, still in school. Can anyone even imagine what it felt that moment? It felt like someone had just stabbed me in my stomach.'
