Tirupati, Aug 16 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla along with family members offered prayers to Goddess Padmavati at Tiruchanoor near here on Monday afternoon.
On his arrival at the temple, Om Birla was received by the TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and TTD Joint Executive Officer Sada Bhargavi.
Om Birla prayed at the Dwajasthambham and later at Padmavati Ammavari sanctum.
Later, the TTD Chairman presented Ammavari Thirtha Prasadam to the Lok Sabha Speaker at Ashirvada Mandapam inside the temple premises.
YSR Congress MPs Vijayasai Reddy, Mitchun Reddy, M Gurumurthy and temple Deputy Executive officer Ms Kasturi Bai were present on the occasion.
Speaking to media persons outside the temple, Om Birla said he prayed for the welfare, prosperity and health of people.
Later, he proceeded to Tirumala hills, where he will offer prayers to lord Venkateswara Swamy tomorrow morning.
Before leaving for Delhi, the Lok Sabha Speaker will also offer prayers at Srikalahasti temple.
