JioPhone Next was announced back in June as an affordable phone from the joined efforts from Reliance Industries Limited and Google. The company spoke quite highly of this phone but kept the key details under the veil. Now, some of the specifications of the JioPhone Next have surfaced, thanks to a close inspection done by XDA Developers’ Mishaal Rahman.

As per the findings, the model number of the phone is LS-5701-J and it runs on Android 11 (Go Edition). It may feature 720x1440 pixels resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm QM215 SoC, a 64-bit quad-core mobile processor with Qualcomm Adreno 308 GPU. It is designed for low-end devices and comes with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon X5 LTE modem as well. The SoC also comes with support for Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, LPDDR3 RAM, 1080p video recording, eMMC 4.5 storage.

As per Rahman’s findings, the JioPhone Next will get a single 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP camera on the front. The phone is said to come pre-installed with ‘DuoGo’ that may have some low RAM optimization. A newer version of Google Camera Go is also pre-installed on the phone with Snapchat integration.

In the same tweet thread, Rahman also commented on the price. He believes the JioPhone Next will be priced sub-$50 (around Rs. 4000) so to target the masses.

While announcing the phone back in June, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL) also mentioned that the phone will be available for sale starting September 10th, less than a month away from today. The smartphone is expected to reach international markets as well for users on a tight budget.
