Chennai, Aug 16 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today
announced in the State Assembly that the DMK government will
fulfill all the promises made by it in the election manifesto.
Intervening R B Udhayakumar of Opposition AIADMK during the
debate on the General and Agriculture budget, who said the DMK
has not fulfilled its promises, Mr Stalin said the DMK government
will not back down from fulfilling its poll promises.
All the poll promises made by it will be fulfilled, he added.
Mr Stalin also said that the previous AIADMK regime made several
promises but it had not fulfilled all of them.
While the AIADMK during its 10-year rule fulfilled some of the promises,
several other promises have not been fulfilled, he added.
Recalling some of the promises made by the AIADMK including provision
of free cell phones, introduction of mono rail service, reduction in Aavin milk,
Mr Stalin said what happened to these promises, which were not fulfilled by
the AIADMK government.
When Mr Udhayakumar pointed out to the crop loan and jewel loan waiver
promised by the DMK, the Chief Minister said there were several discrepancies
in the provision of gold loan and farmer's loan.
Once the discrepancies are sorted out, the loans will be waived.
Mr Stalin said the Minister for Co-operation is working on it and he would explain
in detail during the discussion on the demand for grants for the Cooperation
department in the House and make an announcement of loan waiver.
