Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A vegetable trader was robbed of and murdered by unidentified miscreants in the Rajendra Nagar area of Indore on Monday morning.
According to the police, the incident took place on the bridge leading from Chanakyapuri to Chauthram Mandi. Prima facie, the case appears of loot. The police have launched a probe and the search for the miscreants is on.
Chandan Bhavsar, 40, who lived in Gumasta Nagar, was waylaid by few miscreants on the Kesharbagh Bridge of Rajendra Nagar police station area, while he was on his way to the Rajendra Nagar mandi. They tried to rob him and when he opposed, they attacked him with a knife and killed him.
A preliminary investigation reveals that the miscreants wanted to commit robbery. The police are investigating from the angle of robbery and another enmity too.
Father Satyanarayan told the police that Chandan Bhavsar was lived by his wife and two daughters in Sudama Nagar. As he himself was a vegetable vendor, he used to daily visit Rajendranagar Mandi to fetch vegetables and set up his shop.
The deceased's father claimed that his son had a snatch mark on his neck. "His gold chain is missing. He also had many injury marks on the body."
Rajendra Nagar Mandi has become a stronghold of looting. Earlier, miscreants attacked a businessman with a blade for loot. Irked traders also gheraoed the market.
