Mahindra just unveiled the XUV 700 for the Indian market. It starts at an unbelievable price of Rs. 11. 99 lakhs ex-showroom. As of now, not much information is shared about the variants but we do know that there will be MX and AX variants and you will be able to get the SUV as a 5-seater or a 7-seater. Here, is a first walkaround video of the XUV 700 done by Cardrive on their YouTube channel.

The host shows us an XUV 700 finished in Silver colour. The variant that is showcased in the video is the AX variant. It is the 7-seater variant of the SUV. The SUV looks butch and quite premium than the outgoing XUV 500. There are two other XUV 700s. One is finished in blue colour while the other one is Navy Blue in colour. Mahindra will also offer the XUV 700 in black, white and red colour.

The host also shows us the interior of the SUV. It feels and looks very premium and up-market than the current XUV 500. It is definitely a step up in terms of quality. It gets a dual-tone interior, segment largest panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake, multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control and a lot more. The infotainment system measures 10.25-inches and will come with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Sony sourced sound system and Amazon Alexa.

On the outside, it comes with C-shape LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED headlamps, flush sitting door handles, sequential turn indicators, LED tail lamps and alloy wheels. It will also have a 360-degree parking camera which will help in making parking a breezy affair. The XUV 700 is based on an all-new W601 monocoque platform. The SUV measures 4695 mm in length, 1890 mm in width and 1755 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2750 mm.

The XUV 700 will be the first SUV in the segment to come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System). So, it will be equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Drowsiness Detection and Blind Spot Detection. The SUV would also be able to recognize traffic signs and will have high beam assist.

Engines

The XUV 700 will be offered with 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine puts out 200 PS of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque. You can get it with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The diesel engine would be offered in two tunes. On the lower variants, the engine would produce 155 PS of max power and 360 Nm of peak torque. Whereas on the higher variants, the same engine would produce 185 PS of max power and 420 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. If you opt for the automatic transmissions then the torque output is increased to 450 Nm.

Pricing

Currently, the prices of only 5-seater versions have been unveiled. The MX Diesel is priced at Rs. 12.49 lakhs ex-showroom while the MX Petrol is priced at Rs. 11.99 lakhs ex-showroom. The AX3 Petrol is priced at Rs. 13.99 lakhs ex-showroom and AX5 Petrol costs Rs. 14.99 lakhs ex-showroom.
