Google Doodle honours Jhansi Ki Rani poet Subhadra Kumari Chauhan; check out some of her poems

A phenomenal writer and freedom fighter, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan whose poems still live with us, if alive, would have turned 117 today. Google Doodle on this special day honoured the 117th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, with a doodle.

In the magnificent doodle, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan was posing with a pen and paper, and she was looking deep into her thoughts. Behind her, there was Jhansi Ki Rani and other people who were seeking freedom. The doodle was made by Prabha Mallya, the New Zealand-based guest artist. Google also released a statement and wrote that Kumari Chauhan was a trailblazing writer and freedom fighter, who paved her pave and rose to national prominence during a male dominate era of literature.

Talking about Chauhan, she was born on August 16, 1904, in Nihalpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad, now known as Prayagraj. She wrote tremendous poems like Jhansi Ki Rani, Matra Mandir, Vyakul Chah, Yeh Kadamb Ka Ped, among others.

On Subhadra Kumari Chauhan’s 117th birth anniversary, here are some of her poems:

Samarpan

Sukhi Si Adhkhili Kali Hai
Parimal Nahi, Parag Nahi
Kintu Kutil Bhauron Ke Chumban
Ka Hai In Par Daag Nahi
Teri Atul Kripa Ka Badla
Nahi Chukane Aayi Hu
Keval Puja Mein Ye Kaliyan
Bhakti Bhaav se Layi Hun

Pranay Jalpna Chintay Kalpana
Madhur Vaasnaei Pyari
Mridu Abhilasha, Vijayi Aasha
Saja Rahi Thi Phulvari

Kintu Garva Ka Jhonka Aaya
Yadyapi Garva Tha Tera
Ujad Gayi Phulvari Sari
Bigad Gaya Sab Kuch Mera

Bachi Hui Smriti Ki Ye Kaliyan
Mai Samet Kar Laayi Hun
Tujhe Sujhane, Tujhe Rijhane
Tujhe Manane Aayi Hun

Prem Bhaav Se Ho Athva Ho
Daya Bhav Se Hi Svikaar
Thukrana Mat, Isey Jaankar
Mera Chota Sa Uphaar

Toh bhi rani maar kaat kar, chalti bani sainya ke paar, kintu saamne naala aaya, tha woh sankat visham apaar Ghoda adaa, naya ghoda tha, itne mein aa gaye sawaar, Rani ek, shatru bahutere, hone lage waar par waar
