    Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.37% in an upbeat market

    The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.37 per cent down at 10140.6.

    Agarwal said the global economy is showing clear signs of recovery. The second wave of Covid-19 is ebbing in India with total active cases at less than 20 per cent of May highs.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:09AM (IST) on Monday in an upbeat market.

    Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.46 per cent), TIINDIA (up 0.43 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    TVS Motor Company (down 3.51 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 1.45 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.0 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 0.83 per cent) and Eicher Motors (down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Auto index was down 0.37 per cent at 10140.6 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.3 points at 16531.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 36.49 points at 55473.78.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, Devyani International Ltd., Trident Ltd, Suzlon Energy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Devyani International Ltd., MPS Infotecnics, MRO-TEK Realty, TD Power Sys and Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Viceroy Hotels, Windlas Biotech Ltd., Network People Services Technologies Ltd., Radha Madhav and Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
