    Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.6%

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.6 per cent down at 13965.4.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Monday.

    Shares of Alkem Laboratories (up 1.54 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.32 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.19 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Cadila Healthcare (down 4.74 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 3.05 per cent), Biocon (down 1.2 per cent), Divis Laboratories (down 1.01 per cent) and Lupin (down 0.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.6 per cent down at 13965.4.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 33.95 points at 16563.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 145.29 points at 55582.58.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, Devyani International Ltd., YES Bank, Trident Ltd and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Devyani International Ltd., MPS Infotecnics, MRO-TEK Realty, SVP Global and Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Windlas Biotech Ltd., Future Market, Aurobindo Pharma, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd. and YES Bank hit their fresh 52-week lows.
