Indian Idol 12 Finale Highlights: Pawandeep Rajan Wins Trophy, Arunita Kanjilal and Sayali Kamble Runner-Ups
Indian Idol 12 grand finale wound up the marathon run of 12 hours and Pawandeep Rajan has been declared the winner. Arunita Kanjilal was placed 2nd and Sayali Kamble came in at the 3rd position.
Indian Idol 12 Grand Finale LIVE Updates: Popular reality show Indian Idol 12’s marathon 12-hour grand finale held on Independence Day has finally wrapped up, with Pawandeep Rajan lifting the winner’s trophy. The show has started at 12pm on 15th August continued till after midnight, when the final winner was revealed. Winner Pawandeep Rajan, who was the favourite going in, was awarded Rs 25 lakh as prize money and also gifted a car. Arunita Kanjilal and Sayali Kamble emerged runner-ups.
During the marathon 12-hour run, the contestants paid emotional tributes to the Indian Army, Navy, Airforce and other defence organisations with their performance. This was not the only exciting factor of the show. The Grand Finale not only featured several performances from the finalists, many special guests also participated in the event. Javed Ali, Sukhwinder Singh, Raghav Sachar, Mika Singh, Sadhana Sargam, Annu Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani graced the finale episode. The highlights of the finale were solo performances of Kumar Sanu, Sonu Kakkar and Alka Yagnik. Alka paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar and revealed she watches Indian Idol regularly. Sonu was one of the singers who rendered folk melodies. Her performance with Sawai Bhatt was spellbinding. Udit Narayan put on a melodious performance with six Indian Idol female contestants– Sayali Kamble, Shanmukhapriya, Arunita Kanjilal, Anjali Gaikwad, Anushka Banerjee and Sireesha Bhagvatula and also performed separately with Alka. The Great Khali and Mohd Danish also had a face off. Khali thanked Indian Idol team for having him. Vishal Dadlani also joined the stage for the first time since May and performed with the top six contestants.
The Indian Idol 12 finalists were Pawandeep Rajan, Nihal Tauro, Shanmukhapriya, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayali Kamble and Mohd Danish. This is the first time that six participants have entered the finals together. Shanmukhapriya was places 6yh, Nihal 5th and Danish 4th. Sayali Kamble and Arunita Kanjilal were runner ups.
Pawandeep Rajan has been declared the winner of Indian Idol 12. He won Rs 25 lakh prize money and was also gifted a Swift car. Arunita Kanjilal and Sayali Kamble were the runner ups.

Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta arrived on Indian Idol 12 to promote Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2. Nakuul said that the show is being revisited after ten years in a new light and a new poster featuring the two lead actors was also revealed.
Vishal Dadlani returned to the Indian Idol 12 stage for the first time after May. He shared the stage with the six finalists and said they have all made the show and him proud. Vishal also hailed the Olympic medal winners from the stage and went on to perform with the top 6.
Shanmukhapriya sang Huyi Mast and other songs with a pop rock touch. After her performance, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda offered her a song in one of his upcoming films as he appeared via a video recording. Shanmukha conversed with him in Telugu and thanked him for supporting her.
Pawandeep Rajan delivered a mesmering performance on contemporay tracks Qaafirana, Sadda Haq and Hawayein. He later played drums while singing Nadaan Parindey. It was one of the best solo acts of the entire finale of Indian Idol 12. Judge Vishal Dadlani, who returned to the show after May, was all praise for Pawan. Sonu Kakkar also said it was a very special act. The Great Khali said he and Pawandeep were neighbours in their hometown and lauded his efforts.
Finalist Arunita Kanjilal performed to Silsila Yeh Chahat Ka, Mastani, Ghoomar and Ghar More Pardesiya in a shimmery yellow lehenga. She looked pretty performing in the centre of background dancers. Judge Sonu Kakkar praised her voice quality and overall performance.
Mohd Danish, who is one of the six finalists, performed to many hit songs like Hud Hud Dabangg, Seeti Maar and others. Later, The Great Khali arrived on stage and shared some fun moments with Danish and hosts Jay Bhanushali and Aditya Narayan. Aditya gives Danish a task that he has to make Khali cross over a line.
Bharti Singh flirts with Sayali Kamble's father and they dance together. They bring some light moments to the show. Meanwhile, Bharti's husband Harsh Limbachiya arrives and breaks the act up. Bharti jokingly asks Harsh to 'park her car'. Bharti also imitates Udit Narayan's speaking style.
Himesh Reshammiya performs his hit songs Tera Suroor, Teri Meri Kahaani, Hooka Bar, Teri Meri Kahaani, Aashiq Banaya Aapne and others in his signature cap and long jacket. He infuses the audiences with renewed energy.
An AV shows Sayali Kamble's family walking barefeet to Siddhivinayak mandir to pray for her victory in Indian Idol 12. This is followed by her rocking solo performance in which she gives a nod to her Marathi roots.
Aditya Narayan and Udit Narayan perform together on Indian Idol 12 stage. They even twin in maroon suits and share adorable chemistry.

Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik's fan Satyawan is invited on Indian Idol 12 finale stage. Udit and Alka then perfrom Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai song sitting inside his auto rickshaw. Their sweet gesture wins everyone's hearts.

Alka Yagnik pays special tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar by singing her hit songs. She reveals that Mangeshkar watches Indian Idol regularly and that is making her nervous. Alka's melodious performance is followed by a fusion duet perfromance by Ashish Kulkarni and finalist Shanmukhapriya who sing songs like Muqabala and Bang Bang and make evryone dance.
Sonu Kakkar joins Pawandeep Rajan for a melodious folk song performance and everyone has been floored. Anu Malik dedicates shayari to the duo for their song.
A tribute section was dedicated to Indian Idol longtime judge Anu Malik where the ex-contestants sang a medley of the singer-composer's tracks from his discography. Anu played the piano on the stage during this segment. He has been a judge on the show since 2004, when it went on air for the first time.
Suzanne D'Mello sings with Shanmukahpriya. They perform Aey Bacchu song from Ghajini. Nihal Tauro sings with Indian Idol 12 judge Himesh Reshammiya.

Indian Idol 5 winner Sreeram Chandra also arrived on the grand finale of the current season. He shared that he has sung over 500 songs in 9 different languages post his victory. He also dedicated the 'Subhanallah' song from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani to show judge Anu Malik. He also sang his Bollywood song O Balma from Khiladi 786 movie.
Pawandeep Rajan will be recreating the magic of his early performances during the grand finale episode as he sings while playing drums and guitar.
Singer Sukhwinder Singh will be seen sharing the stage with finalist Mohd Danish and they will perform Chaiyya Chaiyya song from Dil Se. Earlier, when Sukhwinder was a guest during one of the epiosdes, he was all praise for Danish's high energy voice.
