
PM Modi Independence Day Speech 2021 Highlights: Addressing the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort for the eighth time in a row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only presented the work done by his government but also laid out a detailed vision for the next 25 years, in the run-up to 100 years of India’s Independence. Speaking on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, PM Modi thanked the corona warriors for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. In a rare gesture, he also said that the country is indebted to everyone be it first PM Nehru or Sardar Patel, who turned the country into a united nation or Babasaheb Ambedkar, who showed India the way to the future. He also said that India still feels the pain of partition and therefore has decided to observe August 14 as Partition Horror Remembrance Day. He said that the time has come for India to redefine itself to achieve the newer heights of development. PM Modi said that ‘Sabka Saath – Sabka Vikas – Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ is very important for the achievement of all goals. PM said that the government is working to provide 100 per cent of villages with roads, 100% households with bank accounts, 100% beneficiaries with Ayushman Bharat card, and 100% eligible persons with the gas connection under the Ujjwala scheme among other steps. He said that India must move towards achieving a saturation in providing the citizens with basic facilities.
Talking about infra projects, PM Modi said that soon every capital of the northeast states will be connected with railways. He said that railways will roll out 75 new Vande Bharat express trains connecting different parts of the country. The PM said that soon assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi called upon the manufacturers to make for world and make quality products. Along with modern infrastructure, India also needs to adopt a holistic approach in infrastructure construction. India is going to launch the Prime Minister’s Gatishakti- National Master Plan in the coming days, announced PM Modi. PM Modi today called upon ministries, department to do away with unwanted rules, processes. “I am calling today, be it the Center or the state, from all departments, all government offices. Launch a campaign to review the old rules and procedures. Every rule, every process that has stood before the people of the country as a hindrance, as a burden, should be removed”, he said. He also announced that girls will now be able to study in Sainik Schools. He also announced National Hydrogen Mission to make India self-reliant in energy sector. PM Modi also took an indirect swipe at China and Pakistan. “Today the world is looking at India from a new perspective and this vision has two important aspects. One terrorism and the other expansionism. India is fighting both these challenges and is also responding with great courage in a tactful manner,” said Modi.
