Babar Azam: Toss is not in our hands, unfortunately. We have four quicks, one spinner and six batsmen. We have practised hard and we are looking forward to this Test series. Winning always gives you confidence and we are confident of doing well in this series.
Kraigg Brathwaite: We are gonna have a bowl first. The pitch has a bit of moisture. We want to make use of that moisture. There are two changes from the last Test. The guys are raring to go. It’s not going to be easy but we are looking forward to the challenge.

WI vs PAK 1st Test: Pitch condition
With the geographical conditions of the venue- being the driest part of Kingston, Sabina Park had earlier been one of the hardest and fastest pitches in West Indies. This means that the turf was a boon for Windies high-arm tall bowlers back then.
Cut to now, the of late years have witnessed Sabina Park’s turf undergoing a massive metamorphosis. Unlike before, the surface has slowed down. Clearly, the turf will assist spin bowlers and will trouble the batsmen as will come slightly late on to the bat.
WI vs PAK 1st Test: Stats Attack
- In 1998 the game was called off after 10.1 overs as the pitch was termed dangerous. This is the second shortest Test match in history.
- Rostan Chase is just 57 runs to reach 2000 Test runs.
- Since 1977 West Indies have not defeated Pakistan at Sabina Park.
- Pakistan’s victories came in 2005 and 2017.
