TALK OF THE TOWN: Wildlife aristocrat Freya Aspinall stars in new Congolese gorilla documentary after quitting her A Levels
It's a case of nice work if you can get it for Freya Aspinall, whose conservationist father Damian has made her the star of his new documentary Freya & The Gorillas: An Incredible Rewilding Journey.
I revealed in June that Damian and his ex-partner Donna Air backed their daughter’s decision to drop out of school and follow him into conservation.
Freya, 17, has been filming the documentary about rewilding a gorilla, Joshi, in the Congo. ‘There’s no training, there’s no taming,’ she says, ‘just pure love and trust. I’ve learnt so many things from my dad.’
It certainly beats swotting for A-levels.

My lips are sealed, but...
Which well-spoken actor is a secret Jilly Cooper superfan – and even named one of his children Ace, after a handsome brother in Jilly’s racy novel Prudence?
I thought Louise Redknapp was a girl after my own heart, but it appears she’s hung up her party shoes.
Louise, 46, is touring the UK in Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5 The Musical, but after the show she doesn’t have wild green-room parties or tear up hotel rooms – she drives home to Surrey to raid the larder.
‘If I can get back I will, even if I get home at one o’clock in the morning, so I can have a little bit of Netflix in my own bed with a bowl of cereal,’ says Louise, the ex-wife of footballer Jamie Redknapp. ‘Don’t you do that? Don’t you get in from a night out and have a bowl of cereal?’
I can think of better ways to unwind!

Well there’s something I never expected to see – someone who has more suitcases than Dame Joan Collins.
Dynasty star Dame Joan, 88, took to Instagram last week to wish her Hollywood actor friend George Hamilton a happy 82nd birthday – and couldn’t resist sharing this snap of his car boot filled to bursting with Louis Vuitton bags. ‘Wishing my friend George Hamilton (a man who travels with more luggage than I do) a very happy birthday,’ wrote Dame Joan.
To be fair, I understand he was going away for the whole weekend…
