Rajkot screens children across district

Rajkot: Rajkot district administration started the screening of children in 11 talukas of the district in anticipation of the third wave of Covid-19. The administration has started the exercise to identify vulnerable children. Health officials from district panchayat have surveyed children in the age group 0-5 in the first phase.
They screened 1.43 lakh children out of which 3,695 were identified as vulnerable owing to a birth defect, iron deficiency, malnutrition, and delayed development. A list of high-risk children has also been prepared. The screening of children in age group 5-10 years will begin in the next 10 days.
