Manchester United will look to begin their Premier League title challenge in style at lunchtime with a victory over historic rivals Leeds at Old Trafford.
Fresh from a superb summer of business, and with Jadon Sancho expected to make his debut for the club after joining, there is a feeling of optimism at Old Trafford.
But Leeds are out for revenge after suffering a 6-2 defeat in this fixture last season. After finishing ninth last year, they will aim for an equally superb second campaign.
Sportsmail's DANIEL DAVIS will provide live EPL text coverage of Manchester United vs Leeds, including the build-up, team news and updates.
There's the whistle! That was 46 minutes worth of rip-roaring, attacking football. You can't ask for much more than that.
United have the lead at the break after Bruno Fernandes' first goal of this new season.
Paul Pogba, who could have - and definitely should have - scored earlier, teed him up with a lovely ball, and Fernandes thrashed home just about.
Leeds have also looked dangerous on the attack, with David de Gea twice forced into action to prevent them from scoring.
It's still finely balanced, so join us shortly for the rest of the action!
45min: We're into the one added minute at the end of this enthralling first half of action.
43min: United won a corner after Bruno Fernandes' effort from distance took a deflection and dropped behind.
The playmaker then delivered the ball into the box, with both Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay racing off their markers.
It was the latter who won the header in the end, but it fell wide harmlessly.
40min: Leeds are also posing a threat when they get forward, with Victor Lindelof sharp when standing tall and deflecting a ball off Patrick Bamford.
Bamford has looked to move in behind when possible, and Mateusz Klich tried to find him with a low pass.
There was just a little bit too much power on it, though, and United were able to watch on and end the danger.
37min: Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood brought United forward towards the Leeds final third, and then played out wide to Luke Shaw.
He in turn spotted Daniel James on the far side of the box, and picked him out brilliantly.
James rifled his strike towards the near post, but watched on as it hurtled narrowly wide.
That was a little wasteful with Scott McTominay calling for it.
33min: Into the side netting! United have their tails up and look absolutely lethal when getting forward with numbers.
Bruno Fernandes, yet again, was at the heart of the move, and flicked the ball around the corner for Luke Shaw to race towards.
The full back tried to crash into the near post, but instead missed by a matter of inches.
We have lift-off at Old Trafford, and it's that man again! United won the ball back in midfield and broke forward at lightning speed.
A fine pass through the lines picked out Paul Pogba, who managed to play through Bruno Fernandes with a lovely, deft touch.
Fernandes took the ball wide and fired at Illan Meslier, who couldn't keep the ball out despite getting a touch on it.
26min: Big chance for Leeds! The visitors were awarded a free-kick in a very dangerous position just outside the box on the right.
Raphinha took the dead ball, and whipped his cross right onto the head of Rodrigo.
His effort was glanced towards goal with power, leaving David de Gea rooted, but it dropped just wide of the far post. Close call.
23min: Luke Shaw was able to open up his lungs and really look to terrorise Leeds down their left-hand flank for the first time today.
He looked up and tried to fire a low cross into the box, but none of his team-mates were anywhere near that.
Robin Koch then cleared the danger.
19min: Scott McTominay played an incisive pass to the feet of Mason Greenwood when United came forward, and Dan James was then played in.
The crowd were expecting a shot there down that right channel, but his poor first touch instead forced him wide.
That allowed Luke Ayling to get across into the six-yard box and hoist clear from the cross that followed.
16min: This game is ebbing and flowing nicely, and this time it was Leeds who tested David de Gea at the other end.
Jack Harrison's bobbling volley was a comfortable stop for him, but Mateusz Klich's certainly wasn't.
Glancing up from distance, Klich shifted the ball onto his right boot and forced De Gea into full stretch to prevent the visitors from taking the lead.
13min: How have United not scored yet? Paul Pogba has just missed a glorious chance.
The hosts won the ball back in midfield once again and launched forward on the attack.
Pogba was played through down the left, with just Illan Meslier to beat. He looked to pull off a step over and shoot, but his effort hit the side netting.
11min: Great save from Illan Meslier! Raphinha's ball back towards his own goal was abysmal, allowing Mason Greenwood to latch onto it.
He put a leg in to block as Pascal Struijk also challenged, and the deflection forced the goalkeeper to backpedal and push over.
9min: Back came Leeds! Raphinha was able to play Mateusz Klich in behind United's defence, and he in turn stood the ball up.
Scott McTominay, who had tracked back well, then nodded behind for a corner.
That was worked out to Klich again just outside the area, but his little poke forward was played to an offside team-mate.
6min: That was lovely from United. Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay were involved again, and Mason Greenwood was then released into space.
He was able to squeeze a shot off under pressure on the edge of the box, but Illan Meslier collected down low relatively comfortably.
3min: Scott McTominay netted twice in this fixture last season, and he looked to get himself down on the scoresheet again today.
He did well to drive through midfield and link up with Bruno Fernandes, but Liam Cooper raced across to block his effort for a corner.
The set piece was then punched away well by Illan Meslier with Harry Maguire throwing himself at the ball.
1min: We are off and underway at Old Trafford!
Those inside Old Trafford united to remember those associated to both clubs who have sadly lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
The silence turned into applause, a fitting reaction to celebrate their lives.
That's how you get a crowd going! As reported earlier, Raphael Varane was just introduced to the crowd at Old Trafford.
He walked out of the tunnel to a rapturous reception and will wear the No 19 shirt, which he has previously sported at Real Madrid.
After a few pictures and waves to the crowd, not to mention light ribbing from the Leeds faithful, the deal was officially confirmed.
But for now, the spotlight is back on the two starting line-ups today! We're just minutes from getting started...
There it is, confirmation of United's third arrival of the summer. Raphael Varane has penned a contract until June 2025.
In the statement on United's official website, he has said:
'Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down.
'There is a lot more that I want to achieve in my career and I know I’m joining a squad full of great players who will all have the same determination to win matches and trophies.
'Having spoken to the manager I can see how much progress has been made over the last few seasons and I now join a group ready to play at the highest level.
'I want to make an impact here and I will give everything to become part of this club’s illustrious history.'
Here he is, United fans! Jadon Sancho has been going through the gears during the warm-up along with his new team-mates.
It was a transfer over a year in the making, but finally the club have their man. In the end, the fee from Borussia Dortmund was £72million.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Sancho has only trained for around four days, and also struggled with illness briefly after returning from his holiday.
Today, he takes his first steps at Old Trafford as a United player, and it's almost guaranteed that he'll be brought on in the second half.
He's certainly a big miss for Leeds today in the heart of midfield, but Kalvin Phillips is an option on the bench if needed.
Asked about his team selection pre-match, Marcelo Bielsa revealed the lack of training sessions so far is why Phillips doesn't start.
He has also shed light on the situation with Junior Firpo, who joins Phllips as a substitute.
Bielsa said: 'Phillips has done half the work of his team-mates, and with Firpo we had to diversify his preparation, which was interrupted.
'This is why there has been a setback with him.'
There wasn't really concern that Marcelo Bielsa would leave Leeds after their stunning return to the Premier League, but he penned a one-year deal.
He has never signed a contract longer than that since taking over at the club, and alluded to putting pen to paper in a press conference.
That was, of course, confirmed by the club, and now they will look to replicate, or potentially even better, their heroics from last season.

There are absolutely no guarantees on this, I'm only the messenger!
But there are whispers flying around Old Trafford that Raphael Varane may be officially unveiled as Manchester United player on the pitch soon.
If it does happen, then I'll provide all the latest on that. Considering there's been no announcement yet, it would be a pleasant surprise.
That deal is almost certainly done though, with the defender joining from Real Madrid for a fee of £42million.
There's undoubtedly a feeling of optimism around United this time around, especially off the back of a good summer of transfer business.
But now, after finishing second in the league and losing the Europa League final, the pressure is on to turn progress into trophies.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer certainly believes that can happen, and he insists that absolutely nothing is beyond his squad.

Junior Firpo, who joined Leeds from Barcelona this summer, has to settle for a spot on the bench due to a slight injury issue.
There is no Diego Llorente in the squad, meanwhile, while youngster Jamie Shackleton is also among the substitutes.
It's a very attacking line-up from Marcelo Bielsa, with Raphinha, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo all on the hunt for goals.
Last season, Leeds lost this fixture 6-2. This will be a much tighter clash, and expect them to punish United if they're not quite up to fitness.
He may have to wait a little longer for his debut, but Jadon Sancho is among the substitutes for United today.
That's hardly surprising in light of his limited number of sessions with his new club, but expect him to come off the bench to a big reception later.
Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James have all been handed starts, while Anthony Martial is also on the bench.
With Dean Henderson out due to coronavirus, David de Gea continues in goal, and in front of him, Victor Lindelof partners Harry Maguire.
Starting XI: Meslier, Struijk, Koch, Cooper, Ayling, Dallas, Klich, Raphinha, Rodrigo, Bamford, Harrison
Substitutes: Klaesson, Firpo, Forshaw, Roberts, Costa, Phillips, Summerville, Greenwood, Shackleton
Starting XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Pogba, James, Fernandes, Greenwood
Substitutes: Heaton, Dalot, Williams, Pereira, Mata, Matic, Van de Beek, Martial, Sancho
It feels like it's been about five minutes, but the football is back! And doesn't it feel good?
We got underway last night with Brentford shocking Arsenal to win 2-0, and first up today it's Manchester United facing Leeds at Old Trafford.
It doesn't get much better than this. Two fierce rivals on the opening day for both of them, and 75,000 supporters roaring their team on.
I've missed it, and I'm sure you have to - so it's just as well that I'll be providing live coverage for this one, all the way up to full-time.
First up, though, we'll bring you all the build-up, starting with the team news. Will there be a surprise start for Jadon Sancho?
