15 injured after bakkie, taxi collide in Pietermaritzburg

At least 15 people were injured when a taxi and bakkie collided in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, the vehicles collided on Town Bush Road around 07:00.

The two vehicles ended up in the middle of the road and by the time paramedics arrived, the occupants had already climbed out of them. 

Meiring said medics assessed the passengers and found 15 of them had sustained minor injuries. 

There were no serious injuries or fatalities. 

The patients were treated and transported to various hospitals, Meiring added. 

Local authorities were also on the scene conducting further investigations around the crash.
