Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 14 (UNI) District Guardian Minister Subhash Desai on Saturday said that the local administration and the health system were capable of dealing with a possible third wave of corona in the district.
Presiding over a review meeting on corona held at the collector's office here, he said that although the cases of corona were under control in the district, everybody should take care to prevent the spread of infection.
Mr Desai appreciated efforts of the health system in working efficiently in existing situation given the number of available beds, supply of oxygen and ventilators.
In terms of the potential risk by a third wave to young children, he said that the health department has expressed satisfaction with availability of paediatricians and special oxygen beds in the hospitals.
At the same time, planning should be done to increase the speed of vaccination and vaccinate as many people as possible, he pointed.
The minister also took stock of various schemes being implemented in the district and of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
