The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary J. Alam demanding coaching institutes be registered and monitored in the state. The union pointed out that establishment of coaching institutes is yet to be brought under any competent authority or the education department in Nagaland. However, it acknowledged that establishment of various coaching institutes had contributed to academic growth in the state. The union suggested that these institutes are no less than any other educational institutions and therefore coaching institutes must also come under certain educational regulation or authority of the state. Meanwhile, it asserted the state government to ensure registration and monitor their safe functioning.
