IATO signs agreement with DRV to endorse bilateral tourism

Recently the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Deutscher Reiseverband e.V., (DRV) German Travel Association, have signed an agreement. Rajiv Mehra President, IATO, said that this agreement was signed to promote two way tourism between India and Germany by adopting suitable measures in restoring tourism once the situation becomes like beforehand. The agreement was signed by Norbert Fiebig, President – Deutscher Reiseverband e.V., (DRV) German Travel Association and Rajiv Mehra, President, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) to take this forward.


Under this agreement, IATO and DRV have decided implement steps to make its membership aware of membership of associations, its benefits and events in India and Germany. To the annual conventions, officials of both the organizations will be invited and will carry on a travel exchange programme and training programme on reciprocal basis.


For inbound tourism to India, Germany is one of the prime source markets and this will assist in renewing India’s inbound tourism and will help Germany’s outbound tour operators to restore selling Indian packages.


This agreement will not only open doors for IATO members to create a bond with DRV members but it will also send a message that India is all set to greet international tourists once situation becomes gets normal.
