Day 1 was interrupted by a few spots of rain here and there but play was largely unaffected as England did eventually send down their full quota of 90 overs at Lord’s. The conditions were mostly overcast, a slight drizzle delayed the start before action resumed ad India had to take early lunch due to rain. Since then, it has been smooth sailing with no stoppage, as Virat Kohli and Co. cruised to 276/3 on Day 1, on the back of a KL Rahul century and Rohit Sharma’s classy 83.

Day 2 – Check how the Weather Would be on DAY 2 at Lord’s
Day 2 during the India vs England Lord’s Test is also unlikely to be interrupted by rain as per UK’s Met office. The chances of rainfall have been mentioned as lesser than 5 per cent, however, there will be significant cloud cover, as was the case on Day 1. The start of the Day is unlikely to be affected, but spells of rainfall could be expected around lunch and later in the day. There has been no rain overnight so the surface is likely to remain intact and one can expect a good day of cricket throughout.

As per metoffice.gov.uk, there will be a cloud cover that will benefit the pacers with the temperature expected to be hovering around 23-degree Celcius. However, the weather forecast in the UK usually changes in 24-48 hours. So, the two teams will have their fingers crossed as cricket fans awaited 5 days of complete action.

The visitors will now be looking forward to the second Test at Lord’s after an impressive start. The challenge will be bigger as the Indian side will be looking for only their 3rd Test victory at the venue. The focus will be on the middle-order as India will finally look to go ahead 1-0 in the Test series.

Their last win against England at the venue came in 2014 under MS Dhoni when they won by 95 runs.
