    Tourism sector in Goa continues to suffer due to COVID-19 pandemic

    Goa Minister Michael Lobo on Thursday said that the travel and tourism sector in the state is suffering and stated that tourists can visit Goa with a negative Covid-19 test certificate, as long as they adhere to the protocols amid the pandemic.

    Lobo further stated that, "the whole country is suffering from covid-19, we need to have patience, we are welcoming tourists to Goa with RT-PCR negative report or both doses of vaccination certificate and antigen test when they come to the state".

    After the decline in tourists, many businesses saw losses over the past year. Employers are seeking subsidy from the Goa government as bookings for resorts have been low.

    Speaking to ANI, another restaurant manager said, "business is low, people are struggling. The business will re-start once tourists come. People are scared and hesitant to come".
