What Is Rule No. 19 in 'The Kissing Booth'? Elle and Lee's Pact Explained
The Kissing Booth 3 has been released onto Netflix, and has already shot to the top of the site's movie charts across the world. The new film offers plenty more drama for Elle (played by Joey King), Noah (Jacob Elordi) and Lee (Joel Courtney).
Specifically, the plot revolves around Elle deciding where she wants to go to college: At Berkeley, where Lee is going, or Harvard where Noah is heading.
Of course, if Elle decides to follow her boyfriend to college, that would break one of her and Lee's "Rules for Best Friends." Specifically, Rule No. 19 causes huge problems for the friends in The Kissing Booth 3.
What Is Rule No. 19 in 'The Kissing Booth 3'?
Rule No. 19, as seen in previous Kissing Booth movies, says that you "always go to the same school as your bestie." This causes huge friction between Lee and Elle when the latter starts to consider heading to a different coast than the former.
The Kissing Booth 3 introduces another list, as Elle makes a Beach Bucket List of summer fun to do to make it up to Lee after she plans to break Rule No. 19.
With so much focus on the Beach Bucket List, we do not learn many more of the Rules for Best Friends in the third film in the trilogy. However, we do learn two more rules: "Always help clean up your bestie's messes" (Rule 3) and "Always call your bestie every time you miss them" (Rule 35).
Across the three films in the Netflix series, the following rules have been revealed:
- Rule 1: Only your best friend gets to know your birthday wish.
- Rule 2: Never share our secrets with anyone else.
- Rule 3: Always help clean up your bestie's messes.
- Rule 5: Always do the Thanksgiving wishbone with your bestie.
- Rule 6: If you can't tell your best friend about something you're doing, you probably shouldn't be doing it.
- Rule 7: No matter how mad you are at your best friend, you have to forgive them if they give you ice cream.
- Rule 8: Best friends must tell each other if there is something stuck in their teeth or on their face.
- Rule 9: Relatives of your best friend are off limits.
- Rule 10: If one friend is sick/moody, the other one is responsible for bringing supplies to make them feel better.
- Rule 16: When your bestie needs you there, you need to be there for your bestie.
- Rule 18: Always be happy for your bestie's successes
- Rule 19: Always go to the same school as your bestie.
- Rule 20: Terrible decisions are not to be discussed.
- Rule 21: If you see something awesome, show your best friend.
- Rule 35: Always call your bestie every time you miss them.
