Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 1,193 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 9,92,375. The active caseload in the state now stands at 10,809. Out of the 1,193 new infections, 695 were reported from quarantine centres while 498 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 1,107 cases of coronavirus infections Thursday.
Odisha also reported 60 new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 6,757 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Friday morning. The state had reported 67 Covid-19 fatalities Thursday.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 425 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 161 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Angul (49), Balasore (69), Bargarh (10), Bhadrak (15), Bolangir (9), Boudh (3), Deogarh (5), Dhenkanal (31), Gajapati (2), Ganjam (13), Jagatsinghpur (56), Jajpur (50), Jharsuguda (10), Kandhamal (4), Kendrapara (29), Keonjhar (20), Koraput (4), Malkangiri (3), Mayurbhanj (22), Nabarangpur (2), Nayagarh (39), Nuapada (2), Puri (34), Rayagada (9), Sambalpur (11) and Sundargarh (10).
The State Pool reported 96 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,68,88,487 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 1,177.
