A Cincinnati restaurant from a James Beard-nominated chef is closing permanently.

Chef Ryan Santos announced on social media Thursday that Please in Over-the-Rhine is closing for good. The restaurant first opened its doors in 2017.

Santos, who was a semifinalist in the 2020 James Beard awards for Best Chef: Great Lakes, attributed the decision to a number of reasons, "many of them pandemic-related."

"During our downtime, and with a lease renewal approaching, the reflection on and reality of the physical and mental health toll of the restaurant on myself just wasn’t sustainable for another five years," the post reads.

Please's website is expired and its Instagram bio lists it as permanently closed.
