It was a day of Test cricket that started with rain but ended with everyone applauding the Team India opening batsman KL Rahul, for putting on a masterclass on the first day of the second Test between England and India at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
Rahul, who played a second fiddle to Rohit Sharma (he was on 19 when Sharma was on 81) became the hero and the main reason for the tourists dominating the day after being put in to bat first by the England skipper Joe Root.
India lost the wicket of skipper Virat Kohli a few minutes before the stumps but Rahul and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane got through to the end of the day unscathed and the former received a massive reception by his teammates and the support staff in the dressing room. Rahul was embraced by his opening partner Rohit first, who forged a 126-run stand with him.
After which, his friend and teammate Mayank Agarwal hugged him and applauded his efforts. When he reached the dressing room, head coach Ravi Shastri, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Cheteshwar Pujara among others gave him a pat on his back and fistbumps for his knock.

BCCI handle put out the video on social media saying, "Scenes as @klrahul11 returns to the dressing room after his brilliant 127* on Day 1 of the Lord's Test," the video was captioned." In the video, KL Rahul's name was also being written on the Lord's Honours board on the tape, which will soon be written permanently in golden words.
Rahul, who wasn't the first choice for the team management even as part of the playing XI has turned his Test career around after he got the chance at the top of the order following injuries to Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal. Rahul, unbeaten on 127, will look to make it big as India would want to assert their dominance scoring a mammoth first innings total.
Writing his name into history for @BCCI.
