Big action of monitoring bureau in Patna: Engineer's house got so much cash that note counting machine had to be ordered

It is being told that so far more than 60 lakh cash, jewellery, 8-10 land papers and other items have been recovered there. Note counting machines are being celebrated due to the availability of large amounts of cash.

In Patna, the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, taking a major action, raided the residence of Ravindra Kumar, the Executive Engineer of the Bridge Construction Corporation posted in Hajipur.

It is being told that so far more than 60 lakh cash, jewellery, 8-10 land papers and other items have been recovered there. Note counting machines are being celebrated due to the availability of large amounts of cash.

According to information received from official sources of the Monitoring Bureau, Ravindra Kumar, who was posted as Executive Engineer in Hajipur Path Division in the Road Construction Department, was recently transferred.

On 22 June 2021, his service was handed over to Bihar State Road Development Corporation for posting to the post of Executive Engineer equivalent. Surveillance sources said that the bureau`s eye was on engineer Ravindra Kumar for a long time. Surveillance was getting information that Engineer Ravindra Kumar has acquired disproportionate assets.

Collecting evidence about them at all levels, the monitoring team raided their residence Punaichak on Friday morning. During the raids that have been going on for nearly three hours, the monitoring bureau has so far recovered more than Rs 60 lakh in cash, gold and silver jewelery along with land investment papers and some other important documents. The raiding operation is still going on.

Sources said that to count the cash recovered from Ravindra Kumar`s residence, the monitoring bureau had to call for a note counting machine.

Information has also been received about engineer Ravindra Kumar that he is a close relative of a very influential person. Sources said that the bureau team may also raid Hajipur.

DSP Sarvesh Singh of Surveillance Bureau is leading the raid operation. According to him, disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.5 crore have been seized. Confiscated cash and other items may increase. At present the raids are going on.

It is to be known that the monitoring bureau has been running a campaign against corruption for some time now. Under this, the campaign against Dhan-Kuber officials is going on. Earlier, the Surveillance Bureau had recently raided the Patna residence of the DTO posted in Muzaffarpur.
