Imphal, August 12: Shri Ganga Prasad, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim today took oath as Governor of Manipur as additional charge. The swearing in ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. Shri Ganga Prasad was administered oath by Hon’ble Justice Shri P.V. Sanjay Kumar, the Chief Justice, Manipur High Court at Darbar Hall ,Raj Bhavan Imphal.
During the ceremony, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri N. Biren Singh, Council of Ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP and other senior officers of Government of Manipur were present.
After the swearing in ceremony, the Hon’ble Governor received the guard of honour. Speaking to the media, he said that Manipur is a beautiful state and he considers himself fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the people of the State. He also mentioned that entire globe is under the effect of Corona pandemic and Manipur Government is doing a commendable job. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Daughter of Manipur (Saikhom Mirabai Chanu) for winning silver medal in Olympics and other sports persons from state. Finally, he also said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister has put a lot of stress on the development of the north eastern states as these states hold a lot of potential for development.
